About This Course

Asahi Country Club is a conveniently located 18-hole golf course in Sanyo-Onoda, Yamaguchi Prefecture. Established in 1966 and designed by Sadakichi Mano, the course features a gentle front nine surrounded by pine trees and a back nine that curves around a lake frequented by egrets. Night lighting on the final three holes of both nines allows for play after sunset. Playing Tips

The front nine is lined with pine trees so prioritize accuracy off the tee—favor a controlled tee shot over trying to hit driver on tight holes.

The long downhill 1st hole plays longer in run but can tempt you to overshoot the green, so consider using one less club than usual for better control.

The back nine wraps around a lake and the 11th is particularly water‑adjacent, so play conservative approaches and aim for the safe side of greens to avoid penalty drops.

Greens are a mix of bentgrass and zoysia so expect variable speed and bounce; always take a test putt and factor in firmer, quicker reads on bentgrass.

Make use of the large driving range and short‑game practice areas to dial in distances and bunker shots before starting, and be cautious when playing the night‑lit finishing holes as depth perception changes at dusk.
