About This Course

Shizukuishi Golf Course offers a scenic 36-hole layout set beneath the stunning Mt. Iwate, surrounded by rich natural beauty. The course consists of two 18-hole sections: the remote-controlled ride-on cart-friendly Karamatsu Course and the more traditional, manually operated Kaede Course, which requires some walking between tees. Located near the Shizukuishi Prince Hotel, this hilly course provides a peaceful resort golf experience with beautiful seasonal views. Easily accessible by car from Morioka IC or via public transport from Morioka and Shizukuishi stations, it’s an ideal destination for golfers seeking both challenge and tranquility in Iwate Prefecture.

Playing Tips

1
Karamatsu accepts ride-on remote-control carts while Kaede requires walking between shots, so plan shoes and stamina accordingly before booking which 18 you’ll play.
2
The hilly layout produces frequent uphill and downhill approaches—club up for long uphill shots and club down for downhill lies to avoid long putts.
3
Wind conditions can shift quickly near Mt. Iwate, so check flag direction on elevated tees and adjust aim and club selection for cross or headwinds.
4
Bentgrass greens are moderately paced with subtle breaks, so leave approach shots below the hole and focus on distance control for lag putts.
5
Fairways are not the widest for a resort course, so prioritize accuracy off the tee and favor placement over pure distance to keep out of trouble.
