About This Course

Maple Country Club, located in Takizawa City, Iwate Prefecture, opened in 1987 after three years of careful development. Designed by renowned Japanese golfer Takeaki Kaneda, the 18-hole, par 72 course spans 6,528 yards and features a single bentgrass green. The course creatively incorporates famous international golf hole designs, offering strategic play with multi-tiered greens. The clubhouse, designed by graphic artist Yusaku Kamekura, provides a bright and elegant atmosphere, and the on-site restaurant highlights local Iwate ingredients, including the popular Morioka cold noodles. Conveniently accessible from Morioka Station and nearby airports, it offers a relaxed round with limited daily tee times.

Many holes feature multi‑tiered bentgrass greens, so aim to leave your approach on the correct tier to avoid long, awkward putts.

Because several holes are modeled on famous international designs with strategic bunkering, prioritize position off the tee over maximum distance to give yourself better approach angles.

Local winds on exposed ridges can be unpredictable, so check wind direction before each shot and keep the ball flight lower when it's breezy.

Bentgrass greens are generally smooth and can play firm in warmer months, so focus on precise distance control and read subtle breaks carefully.
