Although fairways are wide and relatively flat, century-old red pines and natural forest line many holes so accurate tee shots are essential.

At nearly 6,945 yards the course rewards distance but requires careful yardage control to avoid strategically placed bunkers and water hazards.

Wind from the surrounding mountains can be variable and gusty, so check conditions and adjust club selection on exposed holes.

Bentgrass greens are generally true and receptive but can show subtle breaks and speed changes, so take time to read uphill and downhill putts.
