Playing Tips

The South Course has wider fairways and strategic water features, so you can be more aggressive off the tee but plan approaches to avoid ponds and fairway bunkers.

The North Course is more undulating and demands accuracy from tee to green, so favor controlled tee shots and lay up to the best angles into greens.

Pay close attention to elevation changes on approach shots—club selection can be crucial on uphill or downhill lies.

Greens are bentgrass and generally receptive and true, but they have subtle breaks so take extra time to read slopes and speed.

Wind from the surrounding mountains can be gusty and variable, so check conditions at the first tee and adjust club selection accordingly.

Iwate in Tohoku has cool springs, a humid summer with a rainy season in June–July and occasional summer storms, clear and stable weather in autumn, and cold winters with significant snowfall that can restrict play.

Best Season to Play

Late spring through early autumn (late May–October) when the course is fully open and mountain views are clearest, with autumn offering the best visibility and colors; avoid the June–July rainy season and winter snow.

Dress Code

As a dress code, entry and play are prohibited in overly casual clothing such as jeans or denim, T-shirts, G-jackets, sweatpants, training wear, as well as footwear inappropriate for golf such as rubber sandals, slippers, and sandals. Also, please refrain from wearing towels around your waist, neck, or shoulders.
