Playing Tips

This is a hilly course so carefully judge club selection for uphill and downhill shots rather than assuming the same yardage as flat courses.

Fairways are not extremely tight but accuracy off the tee is rewarded, so prioritize position over pure distance to get preferred angles into greens.

Check which greens are in use before your round because bentgrass tends to be faster and truer while zoysia (Korai) plays slower with more pronounced grain effects.

Wind can shift quickly near the surrounding mountains and ridges, so watch flags and play a lower ball flight on gusty days to avoid big misses.

Approaches often play to sloping greens and uneven surrounds — leave yourself below the hole when possible and use bump-and-run shots on steeper downhill lies.

Shizuoka has a humid subtropical climate with warm, humid summers and mild winters; expect a rainy season in June–July and occasional typhoon-driven wind and rain in late summer, while mornings in spring and winter often bring calm, clear air with excellent visibility of Mount Fuji.

Best Season to Play

Late spring (April–May) and autumn (September–November) — mild temperatures, lower humidity and the clearest views of Mount Fuji.

Entry wearing work clothes, training wear, T-shirts, slippers, sandals, etc. is prohibited. During play, please wear golf attire and maintain a neat appearance that does not cause discomfort to other players.
