Prioritize fairway placement over distance across the East, Middle and West nines because the wide but strategic holes reward accurate tee shots more than sheer power.

Use the two-seater carts that are allowed on fairways to position yourself for ideal approach angles and to manage wet turf after rain.

Expect bentgrass greens to be generally true but medium-fast in summer, so take time to read subtle breaks and control your putting speed.

Be mindful of crosswinds on exposed holes; even moderate Hokkaido breezes can change carry and drift, especially on longer approach shots.
