Playing Tips

The hilly layout produces frequent elevation changes so carefully adjust club selection for uphill and downhill tee and approach shots.

With three distinct nines—Ashitaka, Susono and Momozono—each plays differently so study the scorecard to manage risk and conserve energy over 27 holes.

Greens are bentgrass and well maintained, so expect relatively true and occasionally quick surfaces and be precise with distance control on your putts.

Fairways are of average width, so prioritize accuracy off the tee rather than always trying to hit driver to avoid tricky recovery shots from the rough or slopes.

Wind can pick up in the afternoon near the foothills, so check conditions before each round and factor wind into club choices, especially on exposed holes.

Being at the foothills of Mt. Fuji, mornings often bring cool air and occasional low cloud or mist, afternoons can develop breezes or gusts from the plains, and seasonal fronts bring wetter conditions in early summer and during typhoon season.

Best Season to Play

Late spring (April–May) and autumn (September–November) offer the most comfortable temperatures and the clearest views of Mt. Fuji, while summer is hot and humid and the rainy season around June is best avoided.
