About This Course

Tokai Country Club is a scenic 18-hole golf course located in Kawanishi, Hyogo Prefecture, near Lake Chinami. Designed by Mitsuaki Kobayashi, the course features gentle hills with a total elevation change of about 100 meters, but each hole remains relatively flat. Six holes include water hazards, and the course challenges players with strategically placed bunkers, especially around the greens. The narrow fairway on the 4th hole of the front nine offers a thrilling choice between a safe or aggressive shot. Playing Tips

Although the course is hilly overall, individual holes play relatively flat so pay attention to subtle elevation changes and adjust club selection on uphill or downhill approaches.

Six holes feature water hazards, so favor accuracy off the tee and conservative lines when water comes into play to avoid big numbers.

The 4th hole on the front nine has a narrow fairway that rewards controlled tee shots rather than always using your driver.

Bunkers are strategically placed around many greens, so practice distance control and bunker exits to save strokes.

Bentgrass greens are well maintained and can play firmer and quicker in cool, dry weather, so take time to read subtle breaks and control putting speed.

Kawanishi experiences hot, humid summers with a rainy season in June and occasional typhoons in late summer, while winters are cool and dry with little snow; breezes are usually light but exposed or elevated holes can become windier.

Best Season to Play

Spring (April–May) and autumn (October–November) offer the most comfortable temperatures and stable conditions for golf.

Dress Code

Please wear a blazer except during the summer period (July to September). Jeans, sandals, and T-shirts are not allowed on the premises or during play.
