Playing Tips

Tee shots demand accuracy more than distance because the course is hilly and many fairways are tree-lined, so favour placement over power.

Several holes incorporate ponds and natural wetlands, so keep approach shots conservative when water is near the landing area.

Account for elevation changes when clubbing up or down, as uphill holes can play significantly longer and downhill holes shorter.

Approach shots should be planned for Bentgrass greens which can be firm and subtly undulating, so aim for the safer side of the pin to avoid difficult downhill putts.

Expect swirling wind patterns on exposed ridges; check wind direction from the tee and mid-fairway before committing to a club.

Kansai has hot, humid summers with a rainy season in June–July and occasional typhoons in late summer, while winters are mild but can be cool in the mornings on hilly courses.

Best Season to Play

Late spring (April–May) and autumn (October–November) offer the most comfortable temperatures and stable weather for golf.

Dress Code

During play, please refrain from wearing clothing not sold as golf (sports) wear, such as T-shirts and jeans; wear golf shoes with soft spikes or spikeless soles; and for safety and heatstroke prevention, wearing a hat is recommended.
