Playing Tips

1
There are many ponds and water hazards—favor accuracy off the tee and aim for the wider parts of fairways to avoid penalty strokes.
2
The course is hilly and forested so carefully club for uphill and downhill shots where yardages can play significantly different.
3
Exposed holes such as the 8th offer wide views of the Banshu Plain and are prone to gusty wind, so add or subtract clubs accordingly.
4
Bentgrass greens can run firm and true; take extra time to read subtle breaks and be cautious with uphill putts.
5
Soft spikes only are required and the tree-lined, narrowish approach corridors reward controlled tee shots rather than all-out distance.

Weather & Seasonal Information

Local Weather Patterns
Himeji has a humid subtropical climate with hot, humid summers, a rainy season in June and a mild winter; mornings are often calm but elevated and exposed holes can become breezy or gusty in the afternoon and during typhoons.
Best Season to Play
Spring (April–May) and autumn (October–November) are ideal for mild temperatures, clear views and comfortable playing conditions, while the rainy season in June and hot, humid summer (and occasional typhoons) are less favorable.
