About This Course

Shibayama Golf Club is a scenic 18-hole course set on gently rolling hills with an 18-meter elevation change. Strategically placed five lakes add variety and challenge, giving each hole a unique character. Players are encouraged to use a full range of clubs, facing diverse shot requirements throughout the course. Notable holes include the 7th short hole and the 8th mid-length hole, where a striking double-row bunker shaped like waves guards a water hazard. The vibrant contrast of blue water, white sand, and green fairways creates a thrilling and memorable experience, making Shibayama especially popular among female golfers.

Playing Tips

1
Factor in the modest 18-meter elevation changes when choosing clubs for approach shots as uphill and downhill lies will change yardage significantly.
2
Five strategically placed lakes come into play on many holes, so favor conservative tee placements and avoid aggressive lines that bring water hazards—the 7th and 8th holes are particularly risk-reward.
3
The bentgrass greens are high quality and can be true and fast when firm, so assess speed on the practice putting green and aim for the center when uncertain.
4
Wind off the nearby low hills and water can be changeable; check wind direction from elevated tees and adjust club selection and trajectory accordingly.
5
At about 6,580 yards the course is moderate in length but strategic bunkering and narrower targets reward accuracy over raw distance, and note that only soft spikes are allowed.
