Playing Tips

The hilly layout rewards accurate positioning off the tee, so prioritize placement over pure distance to set up easier approach shots.

Fairways play relatively narrow, so consider laying up or using hybrids/irons on tighter holes rather than always bombing driver.

Several exposed holes can be affected by coastal and mountain-influenced winds from the Kagoshima Bay/Sakurajima direction, so factor wind into club selection, especially on long approaches.

Bentgrass greens are generally receptive but can show subtle breaks and varied speeds, so aim below the pin and take careful reads on downhill putts.

From June 2025, fairway cart entry may incur a fee and is conditional on course policy, so confirm on the day and follow the soft-spike shoe recommendation for comfortable play.

Best Season to Play

Spring (March–May) and autumn (October–November) offer the most pleasant conditions with mild temperatures, lower rainfall, and the clearest views of Sakurajima and the Kirishima mountains.
