Playing Tips

The course is set on gently rolling hills so factor in elevation changes and select clubs accordingly rather than always trying to hit driver.

Fairways tend to be relatively narrow, so accuracy off the tee is rewarded to keep the ball in play and avoid recovery shots.

There are two well-maintained bentgrass greens that hold approach shots but can feature subtle breaks, so take extra time to read putts.

Holes exposed toward Lake Biwa can pick up lake breezes—check wind direction on each tee and adjust club selection on exposed holes.

At a moderate overall length, smart course management and laying up on tight risk–reward holes will often save strokes more than aggressive play.

Shiga around Lake Biwa has hot, humid summers with occasional thunderstorms, mild and breezy springs and autumns, and cool winters with possible light snow and lake-influenced winds on exposed holes.

Best Season to Play

Spring (April–May) and autumn (September–November) offer the most comfortable temperatures and stable conditions, while summer can be hot and stormy and winter may bring cold or occasional snow.
