Bentgrass greens run fairly fast and true, particularly during tournament setups, so read subtle breaks carefully and consider taking one extra club on firm greens.

Hilly topography creates many uphill/downhill and uneven lies, so play to safe target areas rather than chasing flags on blind or downhill approaches.

Wind can change quickly on exposed ridgelines, so always check direction at address and adjust club selection conservatively on exposed holes.
