About This Course

Arashiyama Country Club is a scenic 18-hole course located in Saitama Prefecture, blending natural terrain with thoughtful design. The front nine offers a relatively flat layout, while the back nine features rolling hills that add variety and challenge. Fairways have gentle slopes and undulations, increasing the strategic element of play. The course has two bentgrass greens: one small raised green with varied contours, and another that is flatter with natural slopes. Designed by Yūji Kotera, this course provides a balanced and visually appealing golfing experience suitable for a range of skill levels. Soft spikes are required.

Playing Tips

The front nine is relatively flat so play more aggressively from the tee to set up shorter approach shots to the greens.

On the rolling back nine prioritize accuracy and club selection because elevation changes and uneven lies can make yardages play differently than on flat holes.

Study the fairway slopes and try to leave your approach from the high side when possible so you have an uphill angle into the smaller raised green.

The two bentgrass greens behave differently—take conservative reads on the more contoured raised green and be confident rolling longer putts on the flatter natural green.

As an inland Kanto course, expect hot, humid summers with a rainy/typhoon season in late summer, mild and breezy springs, and cool winters with occasional frost; elevated back-nine holes can be more exposed to gusts.

Best Season to Play

Late spring (April–June) and autumn (September–November) are the best times to play, when temperatures are comfortable and the course displays pleasant seasonal colors; avoid the hot, humid peak of summer and periods of winter frost.
