About This Course

Araragi Country Club is a Highland-style 18-hole course located at an elevation of 1,200 meters in Nagano Prefecture. Set among scenic white birch and larch trees, the course offers a relaxed yet engaging round with mostly flat fairways and minimal out-of-bounds areas. Several holes challenge players to cross streams, adding a mental test to the game. Positioned near the border of Nagano and Aichi Prefectures at the southern foot of the Central Alps, it provides refreshing mountain air and beautiful seasonal views. Access is convenient via the Chuo Expressway, about 20 minutes from the Sonohara interchange.

Playing Tips

Although fairways are generally flat and forgiving, many holes require carrying streams so choose a club that safely clears the water rather than chasing extra distance.

The bentgrass greens are relatively tricky and can be fast and undulating, so aim to leave approach shots below the hole for easier uphill putts.

Fairways can be tighter in places, so prioritize accuracy off the tee and consider a 3‑wood or long iron on narrow tee shots.

Being at high elevation means cooler air and variable winds that affect distance, so check conditions and consider clubbing up on cold or gusty days.
