About This Course

Hiraya Country Club is a scenic 18-hole golf course set on a highland plateau at an elevation of 1,222 to 1,300 meters. Even in midsummer, the comfortable temperatures of around 22°C to 23°C provide a refreshing environment for play. The course features flat fairways that make good use of the natural terrain, offering an enjoyable round for golfers of all levels. In autumn, the vibrant foliage surrounding the 15th hole creates a beautiful backdrop. While the clubhouse bath facilities are closed for the 2023 season, guests receive vouchers for nearby hot springs. Soft spikes are required on the course.

Playing Tips

The course features generally gentle, flat fairways—focus on accurate tee shots and course management rather than pure distance.

Because the club sits around 1,200–1,300 m elevation, be prepared for wind that can pick up on exposed holes and alter club selection.

The 15th hole is noted for its autumn foliage and views, so play conservatively to a good position rather than attacking blindly for big numbers.

Greens are bentgrass and tend to hold approach shots well, so rely on controlled approaches and take careful reads of subtle breaks.

Remember to wear soft spikes as required and note that clubhouse bath facilities were unavailable in 2023, so plan after-round relaxation accordingly.
