Playing Tips

1
Seve Ballesteros’ strategic routing rewards accurate iron play and course management over simply trying to overpower holes with distance.
2
The course is hilly with frequent elevation changes, so adjust club selection for uphill and downhill lies (take more club uphill, less downhill).
3
Bentgrass greens can be firm and fast in peak season, so prioritize speed control and try to leave approach shots below the hole when possible.
4
Wind off the plains near New Chitose can affect trajectory on exposed tees and approaches, so check conditions and aim conservatively on windy days.
5
At 7,080 yards the course plays long, so keeping the ball in play off the tee and avoiding big misses will pay dividends on scoring holes.
