Shinchitose Country Club is a classic 36-hole golf course located in Chitose, Hokkaido. Known for hosting the Hokkaido Grand Senior Golf Championship, it offers a traditional layout surrounded by forested scenery. The course is easily accessible, about 30 minutes from New Chitose Airport and 80 minutes from central Sapporo. Electric carts are available and allowed to drive on fairways except during bad weather. Soft spikes are recommended for play. Locker use incurs a small additional fee. This well-maintained club provides a comfortable golfing experience suitable for a wide range of players.

Tight, tree-lined forest holes demand accuracy off the tee—favor placement over distance to avoid heavy rough and blocked approaches.

With a long total yardage, choose clubs conservatively and use hybrids or long irons for accuracy on longer par 4s and 5s.

Bentgrass greens in summer and early autumn can be reasonably fast and true—focus on speed control more than aggressive breaking lines.

Electric carts are allowed on fairways except in bad weather, so use cart access when available to save energy and be prepared to carry longer approach shots when cart running is restricted.
