Tee accuracy is essential because fairways are relatively narrow and wayward drives are often penalized by coastal rough and angles.

The signature over-the-sea hole requires careful club selection and close attention to gusts since wind can dramatically change carrying distance.

Plan for coastal winds off the Sea of Japan by checking wind direction and strength at each tee and being prepared to club up or down accordingly.

Bentgrass greens are generally receptive but can show subtle breaks, so take extra time to read putts and control your speed.

Soft-spike–friendly turf makes walking comfortable, and on firm days consider using running approaches where appropriate to hold pins.

Being on the Sea of Japan coast, the course often sees strong coastal winds and frequent morning mist, with cool, sometimes snowy winters, humid summers with sea breezes and occasional storms, and changeable but generally mild conditions in spring and autumn.

Late spring (May–June) and early autumn (September–October) generally offer the most pleasant, stable weather, mild temperatures, and clear Sea of Japan views, while winter can be cold and windy and summer is humid with occasional storms.
