On the front nine aim to keep drives conservative as ponds and creeks come into play and penalize errant tee shots.

On the back nine many holes circle Mt. Otsukue and require careful club selection for carries over valleys and uneven lies.

The long 17th is a left dogleg that often forces a layup or a precise draw into the corner—positioning off the tee is more important than raw distance.

Bentgrass greens at altitude can run firm and true, so take extra time to read subtle breaks and control approach spin.
