The front nine is hilly and requires careful club selection from elevated tees to avoid coming up short into downhill approaches.

The back nine is relatively flat but features water hazards that make conservative approach shots and smart layups important.

Bentgrass greens are generally true but can run quicker on warm, dry days so take time to read subtle breaks and pace your putts accordingly.

Fairways are influenced by natural terrain and can be tighter in places, so accuracy off the tee is often rewarded over raw distance.

Elevated and exposed holes can pick up crosswinds, so factor wind direction into your aiming and club choice.

Spring (April–June) and autumn (September–November) offer the most comfortable temperatures and the best course conditions, with autumn foliage adding extra scenery.
