Gifu Hashima Golf Club is a compact 9-hole, par 30 course located along the banks of the Sakaigawa River in southwestern Gifu City. Surrounded by nature, the course offers a beautiful seasonal backdrop, with over 120 cherry trees blooming in spring and striking white flowers in early summer. Ideal for beginners to advanced players, it serves as a great practice venue, complemented by a variety of on-course lessons. Facilities include free putting and approach practice for course players, and a driving range with a small entry fee. Showers are available on Sundays, with the clubhouse closing by 3 PM.

At only about 1,402 yards over nine holes, accuracy and short-game proficiency matter more than distance, so favour short irons and wedges.

Several holes run along the Sakaigawa River and can produce cross- or down-river breezes, so check wind direction on every tee and adjust club selection.

Greens are Zoysia (高麗) and typically show moderate speed with noticeable grain, so read subtle breaks and play conservative putts into slopes.

Fairways can be relatively tight on a compact layout, so prioritise tee placement and avoid risky long shots.
