Prioritize fairway position over sheer distance off the tee because the gently rolling fairways and well-placed ponds can severely punish errant drives.

Bentgrass greens are firm and noticeably undulating, so aim to leave yourself on the correct tier and focus on lag putting to avoid three-putts.

The 18th hole requires conservative club selection and precise approach shots because a large pond guards the green and punishes aggressive lines.

Adjust club selection for elevation changes across the course, as uphill and downhill approaches can alter yardage by a club or two.

Although inland winds are often light, exposed holes can pick up breeze that affects long clubs, so check wind before big tee shots.
