Feet Together Drill

Improves balance and tempo in the driver swing. Encourages a smooth swing and solid contact by limiting lower body movement.

Equipment Needed

Driver
Golf ball

Step-by-Step Instructions

1

Stand with your feet touching or very close together while addressing the ball with your driver.

2

Make a normal backswing and downswing, focusing on maintaining balance throughout.

3

Because your stance is narrow, any excessive swaying or loss of balance will be obvious. Try to hit drives without losing your footing.

4

This drill forces your swing to be controlled and centered, resulting in better balance and contact.

Professional Endorsement

A common drill recommended by many instructors to develop balance; some pros use it to warm up and improve rhythm.
