Playing Tips

1
The club has three distinct nines (Water, Light, Wind), so adjust strategy for each nine and play conservatively on the Water nine to avoid its hazards.
2
The course is hilly, so carefully account for elevation changes when selecting clubs and aim to leave approach shots below the hole when possible.
3
Fairways are relatively generous and carts are allowed to ride onto them, enabling more aggressive tee shots but don’t be tempted to miss short—recoveries from slopes can be costly.
4
Greens are bentgrass and tend to run truer and quicker in dry summer conditions, so read putts carefully and control speed on uphill and downhill breaks.
5
Wind off the Hokkaido plateau can significantly alter club selection, so use the cart GPS wind info and take one more club into the wind when unsure.
