Playing Tips

Two holes stretch to about 300 yards so you can use a driver, but accuracy is important because many fairways are tree-lined and tight.

High-faced bunkers and undulating bunker edges punish short or misplayed shots, so aim to leave approaches short of trouble or play a safer club to avoid big numbers.

Greens use both zoysia (slower, firmer in cooler months) and bentgrass (can play quicker in summer), so take note of surface type and be conservative on reads until you see the speeds.

Because the course sits in a forested setting wind is often sheltered and shifty; factor in variable gusts, especially on exposed or riverside holes, and play for position rather than pure distance.

Kanto/Tokyo has humid summers with a rainy season in June–July, hot and occasionally typhoon-affected late summers, and mild winters; the course is fairly sheltered by trees so wind is often variable but can pick up near the river or on exposed tees.

Best Season to Play

Spring (April–May) and autumn (October–November) offer the most comfortable temperatures and stable weather for an enjoyable round, while the rainy season and typhoon-prone late summer are best avoided.
