Playing Tips

1
Play each nine on its own terms: the East is generally more forgiving while the Middle (Central) and West were built to championship standards so prioritize accuracy on those nines.
2
The long par‑5 5th is a true length test—choose clubs conservatively and consider laying up to a comfortable distance rather than always trying to reach in two.
3
A pond protects the 9th green, so favour conservative approach lines and make sure to account for wind and any downhill/uphill run‑on.
4
Hilly terrain means frequent elevation changes—adjust yardages for uphill and downhill shots and be prepared for uneven lies around the greens.
5
Bentgrass greens in Hokkaido tend to be true and can run fairly quick in summer, so focus on speed control and reading subtle breaks.

Best Season to Play
Late spring through early autumn (May–October) offers the most reliable playing conditions, with peak course conditions in summer and early autumn and winter generally unsuitable because of snow.
