Playing Tips

Prioritize accuracy off the tee because many holes are lined with mature pines, cypress and sawara that will heavily penalize errant drives.

With only about an 8 m elevation difference across the course, club selection is more straightforward than at typical Nikko courses — trust your yardages.

Several doglegs, ponds and creeks reward strategic placement over brute distance, so play to safe zones rather than always attacking pins.

Bentgrass greens hold approach shots well but can show subtle breaks, so focus on leaving yourself above the hole and committing to lag putts when long.

Because the tree cover often calms wind on the fairways, watch for stronger gusts on exposed tees and elevated approaches before playing aggressive shots.
