Playing Tips

1
The Izuru Course has an American-style layout with generally wider landing areas but strategic bunkering, so be aggressive off the tee when you have a clear line and play conservatively when hazards come into play.
2
The Koma Course is modeled on a Japanese garden with ponds, stones and pine trees, so prioritize accurate approaches and favor the fat side of greens to avoid water and tight recovery shots.
3
Both courses use bentgrass greens which run smooth and can become brisk in cooler weather, so take time to read subtle breaks and be cautious with long lag putts.
4
Mild elevation changes at the foothills affect club selection on many approaches, so check yardages and account for uphill or downhill lies especially on second shots.
5
Wind can pick up on exposed stretches in the afternoon, altering ball flight and club choice, and on weekends allow extra travel time as traffic to the club can be heavy.

Weather & Seasonal Information

Local Weather Patterns
Tochigi at the foothills tends to have warm, humid summers with a rainy season in June, cool crisp autumns, mild springs, and occasional frost or light snow in winter; mornings can be calm while afternoons sometimes turn breezy.
Best Season to Play
Late spring (April–May) and autumn (September–November) offer the most comfortable temperatures and stable conditions, avoiding the rainy season and summer heat.
