The gently rolling, hilly terrain means club selection for uphill and downhill shots is crucial—take one more club for uphill approaches and one less for downhill.

Two green types (bentgrass and zoysia) produce noticeably different speeds, so check which green you’re on and adjust putting pace accordingly.

The American-style, compact routing favors conservative play and placement; aim to keep approach shots on the correct tiers rather than attacking pins aggressively.

Light to moderate breezes are common on the outskirts of Takasaki, so monitor the flag and compensate for crosswinds on exposed holes.
