About This Course

Omiya Country Club offers a scenic 18-hole layout featuring two distinct nine-hole courses—Akatsuki and Midori—each providing unique challenges suitable for players from beginners to singles. Conveniently located about 25 minutes from the Yono interchange and accessible by shuttle from JR Omiya and Fujimino stations, the club is easy to reach by car or train. Play is conducted via riding carts with year-round fairway access, allowing for smooth, continuous rounds. The Midori course demands accuracy and strategic play with its well-placed water hazards, while the Akatsuki course rewards long hitters with wide fairways and lengthier holes.

Playing Tips

1
On the Midori course accuracy is paramount—play conservatively off the tee to avoid well-placed water hazards and force shorter, safer approach shots.
2
Akatsuki rewards length and has generally wider fairways, so longer hitters can shorten holes with a driver but should still avoid aggressive lines that bring hazards into play.
3
Greens alternate between Zoysia (slower, influenced by grain) and Bentgrass (smoother and faster), so check the green type and adjust putting speed and reads accordingly.
4
With year-round fairway access and riding-cart through play you can take preferred angles and keep a steady pace, but account for typical Kanto winds which can change club selection on exposed holes.

Weather & Seasonal Information

Local Weather Patterns
Kanto weather: hot, humid summers with frequent afternoon showers and occasional typhoons in late summer, mild and stable spring and autumn conditions, and cool, relatively dry winters with occasional strong winds on exposed riverside holes.
Best Season to Play
Spring (April–May) and autumn (October–November) offer the most pleasant temperatures and firm, consistent course conditions; avoid peak summer because of heat, frequent rain and typhoon risk.
