Oita Sunny Hill Golf Club, operated by Accordia Golf, is conveniently located just 25 minutes from Oita city and 30 minutes from Yufuin IC. Set in a scenic, natural landscape, this 18-hole course features gently rolling terrain and a challenging layout with a long total yardage. Its single large Bentgrass green offers strategic play, with well-placed bunkers adding difficulty on both the front and back nines. The course demands both distance and accuracy, providing an engaging experience for golfers. From June 2025, a fee applies for golf cart fairway access for all visitors. Soft spikes are recommended.

Playing Tips

The course's long yardage rewards distance off the tee, so prioritize a reliable driver to handle the longer par 4s and par 5s.

Gently rolling terrain means club selection for approach shots is critical—account for uphill and downhill lies to avoid coming up short or long on the large Bentgrass greens.

The single large Bentgrass greens can be undulating and receptive, so focus on lag putting and reading subtle breaks to avoid three-putts.

Well-placed bunkers guard many landing areas and approaches, so favor accuracy over pure distance to keep the ball in play.

From June 2025 a fee applies for fairway cart access, so plan your strategy accordingly and note that soft spikes are recommended.

Best Season to Play

Best played in spring (March–May) and autumn (September–November) when temperatures are comfortable and courses are drier, while avoiding the rainy season and peak summer heat.

Dress Code

Jeans and sandals are not allowed. During rounds, please refrain from wearing T-shirts, jeans, or clothing not sold as golf (sports) wear. Please wear soft spikes or spikeless golf shoes; metal spikes are prohibited. To prevent accidents and heatstroke, wearing a hat is recommended.
