Playing Tips

At over 7,200 yards and par 73, the course rewards distance off the tee but requires accuracy to avoid long approaches.

Fairways are generally generous allowing aggressive tee shots, however well-placed bunkers will punish wayward drives and force recovery shots.

The famous 17th hole, nicknamed “Lotus Flower,” is surrounded by sand traps so precise tee placement and conservative club choice are advisable.

Gentle elevation changes around the course mean club selection can vary significantly from the card yardage, so account for uphill and downhill lies.

Bentgrass greens are typically true and can be quick with subtle breaks, so take time to read the slopes and be careful with downhill putts.

Located on the Hakone outer rim, the club is typically cooler than the lowlands with frequent morning fog or low cloud, higher rainfall during the June rainy season, variable winds on exposed holes, and occasional winter chill or frost at higher elevations.

Best Season to Play

Late spring (April–May) and autumn (October–November) offer the most pleasant temperatures and the clearest mountain views, while summer brings rain and typhoon risk and winter can be cold with possible frost or light snow.

Dress Code

Inside the clubhouse: T-shirts, jeans, sandals, and sleeveless wear are not allowed. On the course: Only shoes with non-metal spike studs are permitted. Jeans, T-shirts, and sleeveless wear are prohibited.
