Playing Tips

1
The mountain layout with valleys and water hazards rewards accurate tee placement more than raw distance, so prioritize position off the tee to set up safer approaches.
2
Several holes feature doglegs and elevation changes, so adjust club selection carefully—take an extra club for uphill shots and be conservative on downhill yardages.
3
Bentgrass greens are often undulating and can play medium to fast, so read the breaks carefully and avoid leaving approach shots above the hole when possible.
4
Wind can be shifty in the Tanzawa foothills and on exposed holes, so check the flag and play lower, controlled shots when the gusts pick up.
5
Soft spikes are required on the course, so bring appropriate footwear and expect firm footing on hilly lies.

Weather & Seasonal Information

Local Weather Patterns
The course sits in a coastal–mountain transition so expect humid, hot summers with afternoon thunderstorms and occasional typhoon influence, mild but changeable spring and autumn, cooler temperatures and possible morning frost in winter, and variable, gusty winds on exposed ridges.
Best Season to Play
Spring (April–June) and autumn (September–November) offer the most comfortable temperatures and the clearest views of the Tanzawa range and Mount Fuji, while summer is hot with typhoon risk and winter can be chilly with morning frost.
