Cedar groves separate holes — stray drives and approach shots can be heavily penalized, so favour controlled shots when trees threaten the line.

Hilly terrain causes frequent elevation changes, so adjust club selection for uphill and downhill shots and allow extra roll on downhill lies.

Bentgrass greens can be slick in dry weather, so pay attention to pin position and the subtle slopes when planning approach shots and putts.
