Playing Tips

1
The hilly, garden-style layout rewards accurate tee shots—aim for position rather than maximum distance to leave easier approach angles.
2
East and Central courses show different characteristics and require different shot shapes, so study the hole layouts and pick safer lines where needed.
3
Bentgrass greens are generally smooth but can be firm with subtle undulations, so take extra care reading pace and breaks.
4
Many approach shots are affected by elevation changes so plan club selection for uphill and downhill lies and allow an extra club when going uphill.
5
Some exposed holes can pick up wind off the Sea of Japan—check the flags and adjust yardage and trajectory accordingly, and use soft spikes for better footing on slopes.

Weather & Seasonal Information

Local Weather Patterns
Komatsu and the surrounding Ishikawa area have humid summers with a rainy season and occasional typhoons, mild and changeable spring/autumn conditions, and cold, snowy winters influenced by the Sea of Japan; winds can be variable on exposed holes.
Best Season to Play
Late spring (April–June) and autumn (September–November) generally offer the most pleasant conditions and best views of Mt. Hakusan, while winter brings heavy snow and summer can be hot and humid.
