On the long, hilly Karamatsu course play conservatively off the tee and favor position over trying to hit maximum distance due to elevation changes.

Akamatsu’s fairways look broad but demand accuracy on approaches, so prioritize finding the short grass to set up good second shots.

Shirakaba rewards precise wedge play and short-game touch, so practice distance control and scrambling to save strokes around the greens.

Bentgrass greens can run faster and have subtle undulations at altitude, so commit to your line and be cautious with pace on putts.

Anticipate variable mountain winds and adjust club selection for both wind and elevation—check the flag and nearby tees before every shot.

Being in the Yatsugatake foothills the course experiences cool summers, cold snowy winters, a rainy season in June, and changeable gusty mountain winds that can affect club selection.

Best Season to Play

Late spring (May) and autumn (September–October) offer the best conditions and scenery, while June has the rainy season and winter brings heavy snow.

Dress Code

Metal spikes are not allowed. Except during the summer period (July to September), men are requested to wear a jacket (blazer or jacket). Women are also asked to attend in dignified attire such as a jacket.
