About This Course

Kitakyushu Country Club, managed by PGM, is a hilly 27-hole golf course set on a vast 1.3 million square meter site in Fukuoka Prefecture. The course features three distinct nines: the spacious Pine Course with wide fairways and large greens, the expansive Bamboo Course with valleys and ponds but minimal out-of-bounds, and the shorter Plum Course, which includes a challenging narrow hole. Surrounded by abundant cypress trees and water hazards, it offers a varied and enjoyable round. Since June 2023, the club also provides Cool Carts with built-in fans for a comfortable summer play experience.

Playing Tips

1
Pine’s wide fairways and large greens reward aggressive driving—use longer clubs off the tee to leave shorter approach shots.
2
Bamboo has valleys and ponds but little out-of-bounds, so prioritize accuracy and conservative bail-outs rather than risky carries over water.
3
Plum is the shortest nine but includes at least one narrow, demanding hole—focus on tee placement and controlled shots rather than sheer distance.
4
The course is hilly with notable elevation changes, so adjust club selection for uphill and downhill lies and account for wind on exposed tees.
5
Greens are bentgrass and can play firm and quick with subtle breaks, so aim to leave approach shots below the hole and take extra time to read slopes.

Weather & Seasonal Information

Local Weather Patterns
Fukuoka has hot, humid summers with a rainy season (tsuyu) around June–early July and occasional typhoons in late summer; winters are generally mild but can be cool on exposed hilltops, and breezes on the ridges can affect ball flight.
Best Season to Play
Spring (April–May) and autumn (October–November) offer mild temperatures and stable weather, making them the most comfortable times to play while avoiding the rainy season and typhoon risk.
