As a hilly course many holes feature noticeable elevation changes, so adjust club selection for uphill and downhill shots where yardages can play significantly different.

Mountain winds around Yatsugatake can be gusty and change direction during the round, so watch the flags and adjust aim and club choice on exposed holes.

The single bentgrass greens tend to be true and can run faster than expected, so be conservative with speed on longer putts and pay close attention to subtle breaks.

The spectacular mountain views can make depth perception deceptive, so rely on your yardage markers and rangefinder rather than visual judging.

Best Season to Play

Late spring through autumn is best, with autumn (September–November) offering the clearest skies and most stable weather for spectacular mountain views; winter is generally unsuitable due to snow.
