Karasawa Golf Club Karasawa Course is an 18-hole, par-72 course located at the southern foot of Karasawayama Park in Tochigi Prefecture. Just an hour’s drive from central Tokyo, it offers stunning views over the Kanto Plain surrounded by red pines. Known for its comfortable playing conditions—cool in summer and mild in winter—the course features seasonal natural beauty with cherry blossoms and azaleas in spring, lilies in summer, and the aroma of matsutake mushrooms in autumn. Since 2004, electric five-seater carts have made self-play easy and convenient for all golfers.

Playing Tips

The hilly layout rewards position play—prioritize accuracy off the tee and place the ball where you have the best angle into the green rather than always hitting driver.

Many fairways are lined with red pines, so erring to the safe side and hitting controlled tee shots will often save strokes compared with aggressive lines.

Approaches play to Zoysia (Korai) greens that can show grain and hold shots well, so check the grain and consider clubbing up to avoid coming up short.

Exposed holes overlooking the Kanto Plain can be windy, especially in spring and autumn, so factor crosswinds into aim and club selection on long shots.
