Account for elevation changes on many holes by adjusting club selection for uphill and downhill shots rather than relying solely on yardage.

Accuracy off the tee is more important than raw distance because fairways are often tree-lined with pines and cedars that can block errant shots.

On holes with valley crossings and doglegs, prioritize positioning in the fairway to get the optimal angle into the green and consider laying up when hazards make the carry risky.

Greens are Bentgrass and can play firm with subtle slopes, so focus on approach-spin and spend time reading breaks to avoid three-putts.
