On the back nine, pay close attention to club selection when facing downhill or valley-crossing holes because elevation changes can significantly alter distance.

Water hazards and holes surrounded by ponds on the back nine demand conservative play around greens—avoid short approaches that leave difficult recovery shots.

Bentgrass greens are well maintained and receptive, but can show subtle breaks and may be brisk; focus on speed control more than line on longer putts.

Bring soft spikes and be prepared for gusty highland breezes that can affect trajectory on exposed holes.
