Playing Tips

1
The course is long and hilly—favor accuracy and position off the tee rather than always trying to hit driver to avoid penal slopes and tight approaches.
2
The downhill 8th hole requires careful club selection because elevation change and sea breeze can significantly affect distance.
3
Greens are Bentgrass and, given its tournament history, often run true and quick, so focus on speed control and reading subtle breaks.
4
Coastal winds from the East China Sea can be variable—check wind direction on elevated tees and aim to play one extra club into a headwind and less with a tailwind.
5
Because landing areas can be narrow and the layout uses natural terrain, play conservatively near hazards and prioritize hitting the fairway for easier approach shots.

Weather & Seasonal Information

Local Weather Patterns
Ibusuki has a humid subtropical climate with hot, humid summers, a rainy season in June–July, mild winters, frequent sea breezes and occasional strong winds or typhoons in late summer and early autumn.
Best Season to Play
Late autumn through spring (October–May) is ideal to avoid the summer heat and typhoon season, with crisp conditions and clear views in autumn and spring.
