The notable 650-yard hole requires careful planning—consider laying up to a comfortable distance rather than forcing overly long shots.

Greens are bentgrass and generally well maintained and receptive, but they can play firm and quick in dry summer conditions so judge pace carefully.

Coastal winds can be variable and affect distance and trajectory, so check wind direction and hole-by-hole conditions before each shot.

Soft spikes are recommended and bring layered clothing because Hokkaido weather can change quickly during a round.
