Playing Tips

On the East Course favor placement over power—hitting the correct side of the rolling fairways gives the best angles into the complex, multi‑tiered greens.

On the West Course many holes are guarded by water so play conservative approaches and be willing to lay up rather than forcing carries over hazards.

Bentgrass greens can hold subtle breaks and run faster in cool, dry conditions, so take extra time to read slopes and adjust pace accordingly.

Aso’s elevation and open valleys create variable, sometimes strong swirling winds—adjust club selection (often one club more into the wind) and aim for safe bailout areas when uncertain.

The routing is hilly with uneven lies and strategic hazards, so prioritize course management and the correct angles into greens instead of high‑risk shots.
