The hilly layout with valley crossings and water hazards rewards accuracy off the tee so target the wider sections of fairways rather than always bombing distance.

Expect several downhill approach shots and blind tee shots so adjust club selection for elevation changes and favour conservative plays over risky carries.

Coastal winds from the Seto Inland Sea can change direction and pick up later in the day so check wind at each tee and plan shots accordingly.

Greens are bentgrass and well maintained but can play firm and quick, so prioritise speed control on approaches and commit to firm putting lines.

When approaching holes with water or tight landings, aim to leave yourself below the pin to avoid tricky uphill chips and bogeying short-sided lies.
