Playing Tips

At over 7,000 yards the course plays long, so prioritize fairway hits and position off the tee rather than always trying to overpower holes.

Fairways are generally wide and mostly flat, but the site is hilly in places so account for subtle elevation changes when choosing clubs.

Large bentgrass greens reward good distance control—aim for the center on long approaches and avoid long, downhill putts when possible.

Several holes feature water hazards and unique layouts, so play the safer line on risk-reward holes unless you have a clear advantage.

Akino Golf Club is in inland Kansai with a humid subtropical climate: hot, humid summers with a rainy season in June–July and possible typhoons in late summer, while winters are cool and winds are generally light but can gust on exposed holes.

Best Season to Play

Spring (April–May) and autumn (October–November) offer the most pleasant playing conditions with milder temperatures, lower humidity and firmer greens, making them the best times to visit.

Please wear a blazer upon arrival (except during summer). Please refrain from coming in jeans, T-shirts, sandals, etc. When playing in shorts or cropped pants, please wear high socks.
