The riverside layout features many strategically placed water hazards and bunkers, so favour accuracy off the tee rather than pure distance.

Bentgrass greens are generally smooth and receptive, so play firm approach shots to hold the putting surfaces.

Fairways can play tighter than they look on some 9‑hole combinations, so prioritise course management and layups when needed.

Check wind direction on elevated tees because valley and river breezes often pick up in the afternoon and will affect club choice.

After rain, fairways and approaches near the river can be soft so use higher-lofted clubs for safer approaches and expect less roll on landing.
